Tanya is improving every minute literally. She's not napping as much as before (regaining her energy) and enjoying herself at home doing things she enjoy. She has her therapy at home several times a week.

Tanya celebrated Canada day with a small group of good friends at Sheri's place yesterday and will celebrate again tomorrow with family at her/Bonnie's place.

Tanya says Happy Canada's Day to all of you!

Yesterday, MacDonalds had the honor to be the first solid food Tanya ate. She is now able to eat solids. She is so glad to be able to eat! Tanya likes to take walks around the hospital wing and watch T.V. in her quiet time.

Tanya also got transferred to a hospital closer to home yesterday. Tanya is not ready for visitors though.

Today will be her first day of rehab - a huge step in her recovery!

We, Sheri and Bonnie, have been with Tanya on a daily basis since day one and we can definitely see that Tanya have improved a lot. Tanya is our hero.

Contributions

A note from Lauren Baskerville:

We all know that Tanya is going through a difficult time and has started on her journey to recovery.

Let's show our support to Tanya, Bonnie, and Sheri. I have asked them if it was alright for me to start something to show them the support from our community. They have agreed and appreciate the support. You can show your support by making a donation. The donations collected will go towards them to help with the meals, parking fees, and any upcoming therapy or medical support to help Tanya recover.

I suggested this idea and volunteered to look after this. You can give your donation to me in person or write a cheque payable to Bonnie Russell and mail it to me at: Lauren Baskerville, 39 Harriet Street, Georgetown, Ontario L7G 5W7.

When you make a donation, please be sure you include your name so that a list can be made for Tanya, Bonnie and Sheri. They would like to thank you!

Thanks for your time in reading this! Together we can make a difference!

Three days have passed since Tanya's surgery to remove a part of her skull to give her brain room to swell. The skull piece will be put back in at a later date. She is doing really well.

Tanya is now receiving food via tube feeder and they removed her IV; bandages on her head have been removed as well. Tanya is alert and communicating. She still has her sense of humor that we all love! She walked around a little.

Keep the nice comments coming in. Thanks for everyone's love and support.

On Monday, June 7 Tanya had a massive stroke on the left side of her brain from a clot in her leg. The area that is most affected is the left middle cerebral artery (MCA). After multiple testing, she had a surgery on Wednesday, June 9 to relieve brain swelling.

Tanya is doing remarkably well for what's happening to her.

Thanks for your thoughts and support.
