On Monday, June 7 Tanya had a massive stroke on the left side of her brain from a clot in her leg. The area that is most affected is the left middle cerebral artery (MCA). After multiple testing, she had a surgery on Wednesday, June 9 to relieve brain swelling.

Tanya is doing remarkably well for what's happening to her.

Thanks for your thoughts and support.

Tanya, when I first met you about 15 years ago, I instantly liked you. I wanted to be your friend, as I could tell you were a genuine person and didn't have an ounce of meanness in you. Every time we saw each other, we always had a laugh or two, or just had our comfortable moments and conversations. It truly is a privilege to know you and a honor to be your friend (even if it is from afar). I will pray for healing energy for your speedy and full (yes, I said full..never let the doctor have the last word) recovery; patience, energy and understanding for your sister Sheri as she helps you in your journey back to wellness, and for every other person who plays a role in your recovery, it is my hope that they see what a truly wonderful human being you are. It will be difficult at times, but you have a warrior's spirit, and we believe in you. Much love, stacy and jody cripps

I remember when we were little, say 9 or 10 years old and we were playing ball hockey against each other. I still remember this like it happened yesterday, but I was running down the gym so fast trying to get ball and all of the suddenly, the next thing I felt a strong collision with someone and I thought I must have knocked down someone really hard but then I look around and it was YOU standing on two feet and running after ball that I lost.

You truly are a strong person that I have known for long time. That what I admire you the most. My faith are with you.

  107. I just found out today. It is scary and unexpected but you are under good hands with medical professions and your lovely Manktelow/Russell families and friends. Remember we kayaked with other friends on the challenging waters. At the end of days we could not ASL with out hands and arms. Sore muscles. We suggested that we should be oral and we laughed. We need to kayak again. I am waiting for you to kayak with us.
    Wish you well.
    hugs,
    robyn
